Bio
I am a researcher in the field of bioinformatics with a focus in large language models and genomics. I completed a BS in Computer Science with a concentration in Intelligent Systems and minor in Linguistics at the University of California, Irvine. Previously, I worked with GPT-Codex for my senior thesis on code comprehension, supervised by Dr. Richard Futrell. Currently, I am with the Computational Neurobiology Laboratory at the Salk Institute, led by Dr. Terry Sejnowski and Dr. Margot Wagner.
Publications
Evaluating the efficacy of the GPT-Codex large language model at comprehending Python code samples, as measured by the difference between ground truth descriptions of code and the natural language descriptions generated by the model. Completed as a senior honors thesis at UCI.
Experimentation with revising an existing model architecture to better identify and transcribe images of Gregg shorthand into English text. Completed as a final project for the CS 172B class at UCI, Deep Learning and Neural Networks taught by Pierre Baldi.
